Join Kimalana Moana Phelan for a kōrero on building safer, more inclusive futures in construction — where Māori values, equity, and leadership guide every foundation.

In an industry built on strength and precision, Kimalana Moana Phelan (Ngāti Moeahu, Te Āti Awa, Parihaka Papakāinga) is championing a new kind of foundation — one grounded in inclusion, safety, and cultural integrity.
With more than 30 years’ experience across health and safety, project management, and leadership in major national infrastructure projects, Kimalana brings deep expertise and heart-led insight to every space she enters. As the founder of Kimalana Inclusive Solutions and Chair of NAWIC Te Tai Tokerau, she is paving the way for a construction industry where diversity and Te Ao Māori values are standard practice, not the exception.
In this Whāriki6 session, Kimalana will share her journey, explore the role of whanaungatanga and mana wāhine in shaping workplaces, and discuss how pakihi Māori can lead the movement towards inclusive, culturally-aligned futures in construction.
