Whāriki is proud to present the Matariki Mākete, an evening gathering that brings together the best of Māori business, creativity and community in celebration of the Māori New Year.

Expect a vibrant mix of:

• Māori-owned stalls offering kai, handmade goods, rongoā, art, fashion and more
• Live acoustic music from Peowhairangi Witana & Hiriwa Rikihana, performing sweet waiata from the deck
• Whānau-friendly activities for tamariki and grown-ups alike
• Tere Talks – eight local voices sharing powerful and personal reflections on this year’s Matariki theme: ‘E Tū Ngahere’

Whether you’re shopping for taonga, enjoying kai under the stars, or soaking in stories from the community, the Mākete is a space to connect, reflect and celebrate together.
