A $50,000 opportunity for Māori businesses.

Whāriki has partnered with oOh!media Aotearoa to launch Te Whakatairanga Grant – a new $50,000 media grant designed to elevate the voice of Māori business in public spaces across the motu.
Applications open on 1 May 2025, offering one lucky Whāriki member the chance to win a $50,000 digital advertising package to promote their kaupapa across oOh!’s national network.
From large-format digital billboards to retail and street furniture panels, the winning business will have access to powerful public space media to share their story, connect with new audiences, and grow their presence on a national scale.

"This partnership reflects the power of mahi tahi and the value of visibility," says Renée Smith (Ngāti Ranginui, Te Ātiawa), GM of Whāriki Māori Business Network. "Our members are doing incredible values-led mahi, and Te Whakatairanga provides an opportunity to be seen and heard across the motu at scale. We're grateful to oOh!media for partnering with us to help uplift pakihi Māori."
“We’re committed to making public spaces better – and that means ensuring they reflect the full diversity of Aotearoa,” adds Mark Banbrook(Te Rarawa), National Sales Director of oOh!media NZ. “This grant is about platforming the voices and values of Māori businesses in the spaces we all move through every day.”
Applications close on 22 May 2025, and the recipient will be announced on 28 May. The media campaign must run by 1 October 2025.
To be eligible, applicants must be current Whāriki members.
