Jobs for Nature was designed to provide nature-based jobs to communities and industries that had been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Māori Agribusiness He Ara Mahi Hou

He Ara Mahi Hou invests in initiatives that support Māori agribusinesses to develop a skilled and resilient workforce. It is supporting whenua Māori entities, and the wider food and fibre sector, to: create sustainable employment opportunities for Māori, entice rangatahi to work in the sector, identify opportunities to provide workforce skills and training initiatives.

Skills for Industry

If candidates need industry specific skills for a job, we may be able to offer funding and support to help with short-term pre-employment or in-work training. Training can be delivered by you to meet your requirements. We work with you to develop the best approach.

Apprenticeship Boost

Apprenticeship Boost is a payment made to employers to help them keep and take on new apprentices. The payment is made directly to employers. It means apprentices can keep earning while training towards their qualifications.

If you're keen to help someone who needs additional support to kickstart a long-term career, we can help with funding and wrap-around on-the-job support.

Flexi-wage subsidy

Flexi-wage helps you hire staff and get them the skills needed to do the job. You get a wage contribution, while they get training and ongoing support. The job must continue after the Flexi-wage has finished.

Cadetships

The Cadetships fund is for kaitono (employers) to fund training and development, and pastoral care for Māori kaimahi (staff) at any stage of their careers, to help them move into higher-skilled and better paid roles. Cadetships helps Māori kaimahi to develop new skills, improve confidence and leadership abilities, and should lead to better employment opportunities.
